COMPLETE MAKEOVER - Project Description:
The owners of this of this lovely home wanted additional living space and a new "Nantucket" appearance for their home.
The living space in the rear of the home was extended and an enclosed porch was completed. The number of exterior changes include fly rafters, cultured stone, new cement board pre-finished siding, custom designed trim and new accent windows. The result is their desired "Nantucket" look with expanded and elegant living space.
Changes include:
- Five fixed VELUX® Skylights were installed to replace older skylights.
- Fly rafters were extended from each roof gable - enhancing the design and traditional appearance of this home
- Two layers of existing roof were removed and replaced with GAF Timberline® Ultra® charcoal shingles with a Lifetime Limited Transferable Warranty
- Cedar shake siding was removed, the house was wrapped in Tyvek® and new James Hardie HardiePlank® lap Cedarmill© siding in Monterrey Taupe was installed
- New crisp white low-maintenance AZEK Trimboards® enhance the exterior look of this home. AZEK Cornerboards® and window and door trim blend smoothly with the new cedar mill siding. The soffits around this home are finished in beaded tongue in groove AZEK® trim. In addition to a clean look, this beaded product helps set off the new fly rafters and roof overhangs
- Of particular note for this home, the crown molding over all exterior doors and windows was custom designed by All County Exteriors; also note the sill molding build-up at the base of each window. This attention to detail in the design and implementation of the build-up of AZEK® trim elements adds to the exterior design of this home
- The chimneys have a new look with their Owens Corning Cultured Stone® Dressed Fieldstone® in the "Bucks County" color. They were flashed in new copper flashing.
- The rear extension of this home includes an HB&G square recessed panel column with Tuscan cap and base at the corner of the new extension.
- New gutter and leader system carries through the 'white-trim' appearance
- The blending of materials, the custom design elements and the attention to detail in implementing this project resulted in a beautiful home that met the requirement for traditional appearance and modern function - and resulted in an extremely happy home owner.
